oin the Collectors as we take an after-hours private tour of this interactive experience that combines science with history and culture to bring to life the historic underpinnings of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous literary creation.
     Learn how Sherlock Holmes, might have been the forerunner of today's crime scene investigators, using seemingly trivial observations of clues others missed to solve the most puzzling of mysteries!
     This exhibition features original manuscripts and artifacts, investigative tools, and crime-solving opportunities. Guests will be transported back into Victorian London and given a detective's notebook to use throughout the exhibition to help solve a riveting crime!
     Following our tour we will have a panel discussion on the current state of Mr. Holmes in the 21st Century, and then Mr. Holmes will enlighten us as to his solving of a most baffling mystery involving his beloved bees.

We have an exciting event planned for the July excursion to visit The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes. The Curious Collectors have arranged a private, after-hours event, that will provide unparalleled access, free of crowds and other distractions. Guests will be able to tour the entire museum including the gift shop at their pace, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the interactive experiences of The Cube.
     Following the tour on the second floor, we will adjourn to the Cube's first floor theater to engage in a discussion on Mr. Holmes in the 21st Century, moderated by Jerry Kegley, BSI with a panel of distinguished Sherlockian scholars and authors:

Jerry Les Laurie Bonnie Mary

Les Klinger, BSI, noted Sherlockian scholar, literary editor and annotator of classic genre fiction, including the Sherlock Holmes stories (The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes) and the novel, Dracula (The New Annotated Dracula).

Laurie R. King, BSI, the New York Times bestselling author of 22 novels and other works, including the Mary Russell-Sherlock Holmes stories (from The Beekeeper's Apprentice, named one of the 20th century's best crime novels by the IMBA, to 2015's Dreaming Spies).

Bonnie MacBird, writer, actress, playwright, screenwriter and producer known for co-writing the science fiction film Tron. Her new Sherlockian adventure "Art in the Blood" is set for release on September 10th, 2015.

Mary Platt, APR director of media relations at Chapman University. She is working on a book about the Robert Downey Jr's Sherlock Holmes movies. Her chapter on the RDJ movies appeared in the recent Sherlock Holmes essay anthology "The One Fixed Point in a Changing Age."

Kovacic
To cap the event Chuck Kovacic, a proud member of SAG, AFTRA and AEA, performs his original staged one-act play in which Mr. Sherlock Holmes will illuminate us on his investigation of "The Segregation of the Queen."

Event Time Line
  5:00 pm - Guests arrive. Tour the other parts of the Museum, visit the gift shop
                    and/or dine at Bean Sprouts Cafe.
  6:00 pm - Gather on the 2nd floor outside of the Sherlock Holmes exhibit.
  6:10 pm - Enter exhibit.
  7:50 pm - Gather at entrance to 1st floor theater for Panel discussion.
  8:00 pm - Panel discussion begins.
  8:50 pm - Panel discussion ends, clear theater.
  9:00 pm - Re-enter theater. Play begins.
10:00 pm - Good night Mr. Holmes, event ends.

Victorian costume is encouraged but never mandatory.

Getting There

Directions:
Discovery Cube is located at the intersection of Main Street and the 5 Freeway in the city of Santa Ana. Just a half mile north of 17th Street and one quarter mile south of the Main Place Mall.

From the North:
Coming from the North, take the 1-5 south. Exit Main North and Broadway in Santa Ana. Turn left at Santa Clara. Turn left again onto Main Street. The Cube is located on the left side of Main Street.

From the South:
Coming from the South, take the 1-5 north. Exit Main Street North and Broadway in Santa Ana.
Turn right onto Main Street. The Cube is located on the left side of Main Street.

Parking - On Site (free) Additional parking is in the secondary lot adjacent to the mall (follow the drive from the Cube's lot.)
