oin the CCOBS as we venture to historic Santa Anita Park in Arcadia for our very irregular running of Southern California's version of the Silver Blaze Handicap..
     Dress for Ascot ( think My Fair Lady ), and enjoy a leisurely day engaging in the “Sport of Kings.” We will pick the Sherlockian Favorite for each race, judge the best picnic dessert and Ascot attire and treat ourselves to the sights and sounds of this landmark venue.

     The flag is up on another fun filled day of Sherlockian shenanigans as we celebrate our favorite equine antagonist, Silver Blaze.
Silver Blaze      Join in the fun of choosing and betting on the Sherlockian favorite. Participate in the CCOBS's version of the Wessex Cup Darby Races and win your own trophy. Bring your best picnic dessert to share with the guests and help judge the winning entry**. Parade your Ascot inspired attire to the rail and cheer your horse to victory as you vie for a coveted costume prize. All this and the excitement of a Triple Crown day at Santa Anita Park.

** A note on the picnic dessert contest: We ask that you bring a homemade dessert to share with the guests at the event. A pie, cake, cupcakes, cookies etc. A secret vote from all the guests will determine the winning entry. The winner will receive a special race day prize.

General Parking is included in event price, you may upgrade to: Valet: $10.00. Please Note: You must enter through gate #6 in order to receive the free parking. The Curious Collectors will be located in infield pavilion #18. Enter the park thru the tunnel and proceed to the pavilion area where you go to the Will Call window to check in and receive your program and pavilion area wrist band.

Enter the parking lot through gate #6, the Patron entrance off of Colorado Pl. It's the best entrance to the Infield. TRAVELING ON the 210 FREEWAY: From the 210 Freeway, exit Santa Anita Ave. Head south on Santa Anita Ave. Turn right on Huntington Dr. Veer right on Colorado Place. Turn left into Gate 6.

* You may bring your own picnic (No Alcohol, be very discreet, your bags etc. may be checked), those choosing this option may arrive early (10:00-11:00am) and drop off your coolers, picnic baskets, etc. by car at our pavilion (#18). Please note no cars will be admitted after 11:00 am.

Dining at Santa Anita Park

Concession Stands and Bars: Wherever you may wander, chances are you will find what you are looking for at one of the conveniently located concessions and bars. Hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, soda, beer and cocktails are just the beginning. And don’t forget a donut! They’re made fresh every day.

Terrace Food Court: If variety and selection is what you are looking for, may we suggest the Terrace Food Court on the mainline. It’s just a few steps up from the Paddock Gardens. You can find food such as burgers and fries, chicken sandwiches, pizza and more. Terrace Food Court is located in the main Grandstand,(1st floor) opposite Kingsbury Fountain.

The Lanai Room: The Lanai Room in the Club House offers a variety of food choices every day to racing fans. The menu includes soup, jumbo hot dogs, salads, sandwiches, Philly cheese steak, rice bowls, snacks, pastries and beverages. Located in the main Grandstand (1st floor)

The Farriers: With craft beers and wines made with as much dedication and skill as the finest horseshoe, Farriers is the place for our mature Club House patrons to quench their thirst during an exciting race day.

Clockers' Café: Clockers' Café offers fantastic breakfast and bakery options to get your day at the park started right. Guests who want some morning munchies like a bagel, a midday treat like one of our jumbo cookies or bear claws, or even a shot of espresso for an end of day pick-me-up, Clockers' Café has you covered any time.

Grade One: The hand carved sandwich is moving up in class. Grade One features our renowned race place sandwiches with options like roasted turkey and Santa Anita’s famous corned beef. Joining the field of options is a decadent slow-roasted prime rib, sure to raise the stakes on your next visit.

Pick 3: A noodle bar featuring nearly endless options, guests get the chance to choose their noodle, sauce and meat to create a trifecta of tastiness. Udon with spicy ponzu sauce and shrimp? Cavatappi with white wine cream and chicken?

Press Box: Guests can wring the most out of their next visit with healthy options from Press Box. Unprecedented, freshly-squeezed juice and smoothie options to brighten and excite a sunny day at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Tri-Taco-Fecta: Delicious offerings from south of border, Tri-Taco-Fecta offers delicious tacos and nachos topped with your choice chicken, carnitas or carne asada. Wash it down with a tasty tamarindo or horchata to complete this amazing taste combination.
